Wardrobe Essentials

It's been a while sense I last made a post but I needed to gather my thoughts and to find more inspiration for my fashion based blog. I've found that in my years on earth and months in the metropolitan area that one needs to have essential pieces in their wardrobe. Today I'm going to give you guys ten wardrobe essentials  that both men and women need to have in their closet. Firstly you always need your basic black and white tees either V-necks or crew neck which ever you prefer, these will come in handy if anything spontaneous happens to pop up during what you think is a regular work day or week. For pants you'll need about three good fitting pairs (Dark Washed Jeans), (Kakis) and (Black Slacks) these pants lend themselves to a more monotone crowd meaning you'll fit right in at business cas' social events and functions. Now if you're in business settings most of the time a third piece is greatly appreciated. The third piece I choose to throw on most of the time is a (Black or Navy Blue Blazer) or you could switch it up and sport a (Cardigan), (Vest) or anything that you feel flatters your physique but make certain that whatever you choose to wear is workplace appropriate. I think that just about covers the need to haves' for the workplace and business events/functions, I didn't forget about date night though. For all of my ladies you know a (LBD) little black dress should always be perched in the very front of your closet it serves many purposes so it's best to keep it at arms reach and the same goes for men, except for instead of the item being a dress the essential item needed would be a black, white or lightly printed button down. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this post on wardrobe essentials, and don't forget ! "You do the ensemble justice"..

costume jewels

Costume Jewlery

By now all of the fashionistas in the world should've sense discovered the layer of depth that costume jewelry can add to and ensemble. When you pair a gody oversized necklace with a simple black elegant gown it can change the entire look. Say for instance you find yourself at a cocktail hour with a "plain Jane" dress or even shirt, you could dress that up by adding a pair of statement earing's. We are so obsessed with individuality now days anyway so why not add a few statement pieces to the collection. Costume jewelry pieces are really the eye catchers/ attention getters when someone looks you from head to toe, more than likely they'll compliment you on your selection of jewels and then gaze down at the rest of your outfit to make sure it's up to par. It use to be that when you wore large jewels the fabrics that you wore with them had to be equally as luxurious as the costume jewelry. Now we're in the stage of fashion were almost anything goes, cottons with silks and linins with cashmeres. We update our styles constantly based on what our jewelry collections look like, most people that dabble in fashion know what does and does not go. You CAN'T match something that looks too cheap or is poorly stitched with an Oscars necklace.
A lot of attention seekers tend to wear huge over done jewels 24-7 but in doing that you'll play your jewelry collection out because people won't even question it they'll assume in their mind that it's fake. I think I hit about all of the main points in this blog that I wanted to, the main one being "dress your outfit up with costume jewels" my mom would never listen when I told her that but it's a really easy alternative if you don't feel like going home and changing clothes all together, also it doesn't hurt to carry around a few (all purpose) pieces in your bag just in case something pops up and you can just throw those on and you'll be good to go. Also ladies, don't be afraid of statement hair clips or cuffs, not to mention bangles, men tend to be really intrigued by the clashing of them for some reason. Thanks for taking the time out to read my blog, hopefully I helped someone with an issue, until next time be good and do good.

Patterns And Prints

Patterns have been around sense the beginning of time, you can find patterns in ancient architecture, wall paintings and even some of the clothing our old ancestor wore. Egypt was the most prevalent culture that dabbled in patterns and fashion in general for that fact. The root of pattern making is all based in the ancient locations of the world. Rome, Greece, Italy all a copy of patterns that ruled the ancient world and today we use them in our fashion. Pattern mixing is seen more now than ever before we mix polka dots with solids and strips with lite patterns. Prints are what we call patterns on paper, there are tons of patterns in circulation every single day, manufactures are always looking for the next new pattern and so are the consumers. Also bleaching is really in now it's kind of like a print or pattern in a way, sometime I feel like it's way over done but I can see why because it's extremely convenient and it's looks cool.
Patterns are defiantly going to be in especially for spring 2013, there're sure to be polka dots and floral prints everywhere. Although that will be the case certain body types can't just wear all types of prints frivolously if you're thicker of course you'll have to look out for unflattering prints and patterns, it can be very easy to think a garment is cute, and buy it just for that fact but you should always evaluate your choices in clothes while you're in the midst of shopping. Also keep in mind that prints also are in jeans and other types of pants. Again reiterating the fact that you do not have to go to these expensive shops to stay on trend. I'm sure they'll be plenty of vintage wearing dolls out in the world this spring remember (try on clothes first).
